RingLight privacy policy

Buying RingLight on this website collects some personal information, as explained below.

This policy covers the RingLight app for Windows, made by Extra Medium Software Co. It was last updated on November 6, 2026.

What the app keeps, and where

Everything RingLight saves stays on your PC, in your own Windows user folder:

  • Your settings: the light's size, position, shape, color and brightness, your color presets, your theme, and where the control panel sits.
  • The date your free trial started and, once you've unlocked it, your licence.

None of this is ever sent to us or to anyone else, apart from the licence as described below. Deleting RingLight's folder removes it.

What the app sends

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash reporting to us. The free trial makes no network connections of its own. A copy you've unlocked with a product key contacts our shop, as described under Buying on this website.

RingLight doesn't use your camera or microphone, and doesn't look at what's on your screen.

Buying on this website

RingLight is sold at our shop through PayPal. You pay in PayPal's own window, so we never see your card or your PayPal login. PayPal handles the payment under the PayPal Privacy Statement, and tells us:

  • the email address on your PayPal account, which is where we send your product key, and where Find your key sends it again. We send these emails through Google's Gmail, under Google's Privacy Policy;
  • the country and state of the address on your PayPal account: RingLight is sold in the US only, and sales tax depends on the state. We don't keep your street address;
  • the amount and PayPal's reference for the payment, for our records and in case of a dispute.

To unlock RingLight, the app sends us your key, a one-way code made from your PC's Windows ID (not the ID itself) and your PC's name. A key is for one PC at a time, so we keep which PC it's on. Each time the unlocked app starts while online, it sends us its licence (that same code and your purchase's number) to check the key is still on that PC.

We keep this for as long as the purchase stands, plus as long as tax law asks us to keep sales records, and we use it for nothing else: no marketing email, and we never sell or share it. To have it deleted, or to see what we hold, get in touch through our contact page.

This website

The RingLight pages of our website use no analytics or advertising cookies. The site's Martian Mortars pages may show Google ads, which use cookies. If you write to us through the contact page, your name, email address and message come to us by email, and we use them only to reply. The links in the app's Unlock window and Settings open this website in your browser, like any other link.

Children

Buying RingLight takes a PayPal account, which is for adults.

Changes

If the app ever changes what it does with information, we'll update this page and the date above before it does.
