LocoSim · Effective 6 November 2026

Buying a key collects personal information, as explained below. The LocoSim pages show no ads and run no analytics.

What LocoSim saves

LocoSim saves your railways, your view and sound settings, the frame log (if you turn it on), a log of any crash and the trial's time for the day in files on your PC, in %LocalAppData%\LocoSim. They never leave your PC, unless you choose to send us one of the logs when asking for help.

Buying LocoSim

LocoSim is sold at our shop through PayPal. You pay in PayPal's own window, so we never see your card or your PayPal login. PayPal handles the payment under the PayPal Privacy Statement, and tells us:

The trial sends us nothing. To unlock LocoSim, it sends us your key, a one-way code made from your PC's Windows ID (not the ID itself) and your PC's name. A key is for one PC at a time, so we keep which PC it's on. Each time LocoSim starts while online, it sends us its licence (that same code and your purchase's number) to check the key is still on that PC.

We keep this for as long as the purchase stands, plus as long as tax law asks us to keep sales records, and we use it for nothing else: no marketing email, and we never sell or share it. To have it deleted, or to see what we hold, get in touch through our contact page.

What LocoSim doesn't do

This website

The LocoSim pages run no analytics and carry no advertising code. The product and privacy pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them, and Google receives your IP address as it would for any web request (see Google's Privacy Policy). The buy and key pages load no fonts; the buy page loads PayPal's button from PayPal. The web host may keep standard server logs of requests.

Children

LocoSim is made for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13.
